Rack Construction
Wall-mounting, sheet metal racks requiring front and top access only, housing
twelve dimmer modules and a full-height power distribution compartment at the
right hand side. The multi-louvred cover over the dimmer area, the fuse panel
and the connection access panel below, are all recessed.
A cable entry plate, for all external connections, is provided both at the top
and the bottom rear of the distribution compartment to allow two racks to be
mounted one above the other.
Power Distribution
Internally wired for three phase and neutral 50Hz supply with earth continuity
conductor, but supplied with removable links coupling the three phase connections
to a larger pressure-pad terminal for single phase operation.
Each dimmer output, for 220/240v tungsten lamp load, internally wired to pressure-pad
terminals for load line and neutral conductors.
Fuse Protection
Fuse panel contains a single pole fuse for each dimmer module, 440v rated, shrouded-contact
fuse holder including inexpensive HRC fuse-link providing close-excess current
protection or alternatively, to order, Neozed type fuse holder. Each of the
three horizontal blocks of four fuse holders are linked by solid copper busbars.
Control Wiring
Internally wired to pressure-pad terminals for the incoming control signals
and for the built-in, extra low voltage D.C. power supply required for the Mini-2+
desk.
To interconnect with a Mini-2+ desk, the control wiring from each rack needs
to terminate in a remote twin 8-pin control socket box (order code 04 799 02).
Ventilation
The total heat dissipated by convection ventilation does not exceed 2% of the
maximum load capacity. Exceptionally, in confined spaces, external ventilation
may be necessary to ensure the ambient temperature does not exceed 35°C.
Thyristor Dimmer Modules
Modular construction with power distribution and individual control connections
through pressure-pad terminals. Each module self-contained with its own temperature
and long term stable trigger card and a pair of Thyristors, surge and continuously
rated for 2000W maximum 220/240v tungsten filament lamps.
Filtering
To professional theatre standards. Incoming supply and each dimmer output fitted
with radio frequency filters in addition to a substantial inductive filter to
each dimmer module.
Variants and Accessories
Wall-mounting 12-dimmer rack for
single or three phase and neutral, 50Hz supply, 220/240v phase to neutral. With
shrouded-contact fuse holder for each of the 12 2000-Watt max. dimmers and internally
wired to output terminals. Fixed format of 4 dimmer channels to each phase,
